Music
Music prepares our hearts for worship, contributing to the beauty and meaning of our service. Participating in the music of the church provides a great opportunity to share the many talents that God has given us, mindful always that our performance is for an audience of one.
Praise Band
The praise band provides music and leads the congregation in singing during worship every week. The focus of the music is contemporary, and we strive to include music currently on Christian radio stations, as well as older favorites. Hymns are also sung regularly, in an updated style.
The praise band plays and rehearses year-round.
Participation in the band is by audition. Instrumentalists are also welcome.
Choir
The choir’s main focus for the 2009-10 year will be the Christmas and Easter cantatas.
Special Music
“Special music” is an anthem—a song or instrumental piece which is presented by a soloist or group with no participation from the congregation. It is a time of reflection and prayer for the listeners, and is prepared and performed for an audience of one—God.
Special music is offered every Sunday during the collection of Tithes and Offerings. Any combination of singers or instrumentalists may offer their talents. Rehearsal, as always, is required.
