Deaconesses are also elected by the congregation at FBC’s annual meeting or at other business meetings. Their job is to provide a strong and wholesome Christian witness in our church.

In addition to this witness, the Deaconesses prepare elements for Holy Communion (bread and grape juice); prepare luncheons and refreshments when there is a special occasion; i.e., funeral of a church member; visit the homebound, and deliver altar flowers weekly to the homes of people who are ill.
