Members of First Baptist believe that Christian Fellowship is enjoyable and also helpful in building the Kingdom of God. Hence, under the direction of the Church Council, the Fellowship Committee sponsors several social events as follows:

St. Patrick’s Day Dinner. This event involves an Irish meal and a special program. Two memorable programs from earlier years come to mind. First, an elderly man shared about his life-long hobby of raising pigeons; second, a folk singer recently entertained us with songs and music played on several string instruments.

Our Church Family Picnic in July is hosted each year by Lee Brewers at their Middletown home. It is a gloriously rich and relaxed time to sit in lawn chairs, swim in the pool, eat hot dogs, munch on watermelon, enjoy homemade ice cream… and enjoy each other’s company.

The Harvest Party is another wonderful social occasion. Held in the month of October, we’re talking about a potluck with programs and lots of fun for the whole family.

Fellowship Trips. During the year, FBC members take various trips to locations in the local area. Our goal is to learn something new, to keep one’s life interesting and to enjoy each other’s company. Earlier FBC trips have included visits to: a Blue Claws baseball game in Trenton, a drama program at Manasquan Theater, and a country music program at the vintage High School in Asbury Park which was recently renovated.

In addition, the Fellowship Committee sponsors an Apple Festival, a Strawberry or Ice Cream Festival, etc.
