The Missions Committee is a functional committee of the Church Council. Because the Missions Program is ongoing, Mission Committee Members continue to meet and give leadership to their cause. Putting it another way, the job of the Missions Committee is to promote and interpret our Mission Program and to be an Advocate for Missions.

Most of FBC financial support for Missions is designated in our annual budget. This budget is voted on by the Congregation at the November Annual Meeting.

In addition, however, there is about $6,000 which is non-designated. The Mission Committee disburses the funds directly – by Committee vote – to a variety of Mission Causes.

The Missions Committee is on the lookout for special, short-term Missions Projects which our Church Members can support. Here are two examples which we supported in recent months: Collecting clothes for the poor and needy, and also providing a Christmas Party for the children of parents now serving a prison sentence.

Finally , we hope to sponsor at least two Mission emphases this Church year.
