FBC is the Host for Five 12-Step Programs.
The Philosophy of each Group is similar to the Insights which guide the work of Alcoholics Anonymous Groups. These Insights are:
1. A Higher Power is Available to All People.
2. If one is Addicted or otherwise Dysfunctional, admitting one’s Helplessness is Key.
The First Step in the Process of Self-Improvement is to Recognize a Problem.
3. Friendship and Encouragement is also Essential to the Process of Healing.
12-Step Programs are run by people who are themselves Challenged Members of the Group. However, FBC Members who have these problems respectively are also Welcome to join One or More of these 12-Step Programs.
FBC does not monitor or give input to any of the Group Discussions. However, responsible behavior during Meetings in our FBC facility is expected.
Finally, most Groups pay a small stipend to FBC which also helps to defray building and utility expenses.
The 12-Step Groups now using FBC include the following:
ACOC – Adult Children of Alcoholics
OA – Overeaters Anonymous
AA – Alcoholics Anonymous
SA – Sexual Addiction Recovery
NAMI – National Association of Mental Illness
On behalf of the Members and Leaders of these Groups respectively, we Welcome People into these Programs. Our Hope is that All who Attend the 12-Step Programs will Grow in Freedom, Responsibility, and Dignity.
